Candidate for: 2025 World Electronics Achievement Awards - Innovative Company of the year
RiVAI Technologies was founded by Dr. Zhangxi Tan in 2018 and is one of the earliest companies in China to engage in the design of high-end RISC-V processors. The founding team hails from the original RISC-V project group at UC Berkeley, bringing together top-tier talent in microarchitecture design and chip productization from both within China and abroad.

Since its establishment, RiVAI has consistently strengthened its technological leadership through differentiated CPU core IP products. RiVAI V7 DSP, launched in mid-2022, was the world's first to introduce vector cores into professional audio DSP applications and has entered mass production with leading global clients. Later that year, the RiVAI P600 processor IP became one of the industry's first commercial solutions supporting RVV 1.0 vector extensions, now deployed in multiple data center applications.

In March 2025, RiVAI unveiled its groundbreaking LingYu processor - China's first fully self-developed high-performance RISC-V server chip. The product achieves international mainstream standards in computing power, energy efficiency, and interface configuration, making it ideal for high-performance computing, all-flash storage systems, and open-source large language models like DeepSeek.

With the official launch of the LingYu processor, RiVAI has formed strategic partnerships with leading OEMs and solution providers including Lenovo, Great Wall, and 3NOD to accelerate large-scale deployment of RISC-V-based high-performance servers. Moving forward, RiVAI will continue collaborating with commercial and ecosystem partners to advance cloud-native CPU development, provide global customers with resilient supply chain options for core technologies, and foster the continued growth of the RISC-V ecosystem.
In March 2025, RiVAI Technologies launched China's first fully self-developed high-performance RISC-V server chip - the LingYu processor. Against the backdrop of continuously growing computing power demands, the LingYu processor leverages the openness and customizable characteristics of RISC-V to not only possess competitive capabilities against traditional X86 and Arm architectures, but also provide a more cost-effective choice for the server market. With its high energy efficiency, high flexibility, and fully domestically-developed computing solution featuring comprehensive ecosystem compatibility, it is expected to become an important driving force in the new wave of domestic innovation.
Advancing the development of the chip industry requires not only technological approaches and individual breakthroughs, but more importantly systematic ecosystem construction. RiVAI Technologies has already completed extensive ecosystem deployment in the high-performance field.
In terms of ecosystem development, RiVAI has gathered numerous leading OEMs and solution providers including Lenovo, Great Wall, and 3NOD to jointly promote the large-scale deployment phase of high-performance servers based on RISC-V architecture. For key components, RiVAI has collaborated with Longsys to jointly develop intelligent all-flash storage systems based on LingYu, and partnered with XSKY to build a multi-level system ecosystem covering cloud-edge collaboration, data storage and management. To date, the LingYu processor ecosystem has attracted over 50 partners, covering multiple core areas including OEMs, system software, industry solutions, and EDA toolchains.
In this global architecture transition represented by RISC-V, RiVAI Technologies is becoming a crucial link connecting methodology and ecosystem systems. Through collaborative advancement with industry partners, it is helping China build a more solid and sustainable technological and ecological foundation in the RISC-V field.
